ART AND FASHION NEXT TO EACH OTHER: A TASTE OF LIFE

The first exhibition of the OTHERS project, titled “Taste of Life: Despite of…” (Chuť života: Navzdory…), took place from September 6 to September 28, 2023, at the Beseder Gallery in Prague.
The exhibition featured works by Kyiv-based artist Fayina Yerenburh, including a series of paintings cr eated during a challenging period when a curfew was imposed in Ukraine after sunset and many people were unable to return home from work. Despite the difficult wartime conditions, electricity was still available at night, allowing the artist to continue working and searching for light and color in everyday life.
“During those days, when life had become almost black and white, I really wanted to see colors — bright colors,” recalled Fayina Yerenburh. Her desire to make the world more colorful and to illuminate empty streets became the driving force behind her artistic practice, even in the midst of war.
The exhibition also presented a collection of silk scarves and dresses featuring original prints. The dress designs were created in 2022–2023 by renowned Ukrainian fashion designer Fedor Vozianov.
“My brightest paintings were transformed into fabric prints, which then magically became silk scarves. And thanks to the limitless talent of Fedor Vozianov, these beautiful dresses appeared on the streets of Kyiv,” the artist explained. “That wave of color, joy, and energy… I thought I needed all of this only for myself, but I was wrong. Many people need it.”
The exhibition presented:
* 15 paintings, 135 × 135 cm (acrylic on canvas, author’s technique);
* 13 paintings, 50 × 50 cm (acrylic on canvas, author’s technique);
* 10 works, 100 × 100 cm (printing on aluminum composite, created specifically for the exhibition, including exterior elements);
* 15 artistic silk scarves, 140 × 140 cm (100% silk);
* 10 artistic dresses.

Each painting was accompanied by music by Czech composer Ervín Schulhoff. The musical component not only created a dialogue with the artworks but also served as a gesture of gratitude to the Czech Republic for the invitation and the opportunity to present the artist’s work in the country.
The exhibition was curated by Vadim Krechmar (Kyiv). The exhibition was organized by ART-EMBASSY.EU , under the leadership of Oleg Tarasov.
